If I were to ask you to make a list of a hundred things you need to do to please the Lord today, you could do it, could you not? In fact, you probably have so many spiritual “to do’s” and “not to do’s” cluttering up your mind that you would hardly know where to start.
But you can relax. I am not going to suggest that you make a list of them. Instead, I am going to help you simplify things by giving you only one; Abide in Jesus.
The one thing you are truly responsible for is your union with Him. If you keep your union and fellowship with Him intact, everything else will be taken care of.
You may say, ‘But, I am facing some big problems right now. My life is turned upside down. I am so rushed I do not know whether I am coming or going. I do not have time to fellowship with the Lord today’.
That is when you need to do it the most! You need to maintain your union with the Lord particularly when the storms of life come. I know that this is often not easy to do. Whether the storm is a sickness in your body or financial problems or even family strife, the temptation will be to settle your attention and your mind on that problem. You will not even want to think about anything else.
That is what the devil planned and is counting on. That is the reason he sent that storm in the first place. To distract you from fellowshipping with God. To draw your attention away from your union with Him.
“If a person does not dwell in Me, he is thrown out like a [broken-off] branch, and withers; such branches are gathered up and thrown into the fire, and they are burned.” John 15:6 (AMPC)
Do not fall into the devil’s trap. Instead, keep your thoughts and affections trained on the Lord. As you do that, the force of faith will begin to flow out of you. That flow will repel every form of darkness. It will bring you in triumph through every storm.
“Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus. Help me not lose sight of You in the midst of the storms I am facing. Help me to remember to hold onto and acknowledge You as much as I do when the storms in my life have ceased. I give you all honour, and the glory, and the praise. Thank you. Amen.”
Fellowship with Jesus today.
God Richest Love and Blessings to you all!
