All of us have our opinions about what is happening in the world and around us, and most of us cannot wait to make our opinions known to others. Most of us do not even see it as gossip or slandering of our leaders, we believe we are just “sharing the facts”.
If this is our point of view, we should not expect to see a change in our situation or circumstances soon. The death that we are sowing with our tongues, we are reaping in our everyday lives.
However, if we take those complaints, those gossips and those slanders; and we turn them into prayers, both private and corporate, and then leave these situations and circumstances in the ever-capable Hands of our Almighty God Himself, we can stand on and expect change!
“FIRST OF all, then, I admonish and urge that petitions, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be offered on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in positions of authority or high responsibility, that [outwardly] we may pass a quiet and undisturbed life [and inwardly] a peaceable one in all godliness and reverence and seriousness in every way.” 1 Timothy 2:1-2 AMPC
“LET EVERY person be loyally subject to the governing (civil) authorities. For there is no authority except from God [by His permission, His sanction], and those that exist do so by God’s appointment.” Romans 13:1 AMPC
Pray for your leaders and all those in authority if you wish to live a quiet, peaceful, and undisturbed life. The power lies in OUR tongues, and the battle is fought in our prayer closets!
“Father, I come to You in the Name of Jesus Christ. I acknowledge that I have gossiped and slandered people and leaders with my words and my actions. People who You have created, whom You have placed in authority, and who belong to You, irrespective of where they find themselves, I acknowledge that they are Your creation. Please forgive me and help me speak words of life and act accordingly. I commit them into Your Hands and speak wisdom and blessing over them. Amen.
