When we have a promise of God, we have something of concrete value that we can stand on.  However, we need to realise that most promises in the Bible comes with qualifying criteria, which most Christians unfortunately choose to ignore or leave out when quoting those promises of God, and then stand amazed and disappointed that God’s promises are not being fulfilled in their lives.

God LOVES to give us what we pray for, the promise, but we have to pray according to His will for our lives, the qualifying criteria.  So first, spend time with our God, find out Who He is, get to know His character.  Then, while spending time with God, find out who you are in Him.  Finally, while spending time with God, find out what His Will and plan and purpose is for you.  Then pray into His Will for your life and stand amazed at the Hand of God’s provision in your life.

“I write this to you who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) the name of the Son of God [in the peculiar services and blessings conferred by Him on men], so that you may know [with settled and absolute knowledge] that you [already] have life, yes, eternal life.  And this is the confidence (the assurance, the privilege of boldness) which we have in Him: [we are sure] that if we ask anything (make any request) according to His will (in agreement with His own plan), He listens to and hears us.”

1 John 5:13-14 (AMPC)

Our God is good and faithful and just.  As with any relationship it is all about the time spent with each other.  Try it, for yourselves, see if it works for you.

God’s Richest Love and Blessings to you, LFM!
